David Kleinberg
Personal Injury Trial Attorney and Partner, Neufeld & Kleinberg, PA
For more than three decades, David Kleinberg has done his best work in front of a jury. Known across South Florida courtrooms as “The Man in the Hat,” he is a gifted communicator who can take a complex case involving a defective product or a catastrophic brain injury and make twelve jurors understand exactly what went wrong and why it matters. For injured Floridians facing a large corporation and its insurer, David is the kind of advocate you want standing between you and a company built to pay you as little as possible.
Practice Focus
David represents seriously injured clients across Florida, with a particular focus on catastrophic and brain-injury cases. His trial work spans defective and dangerous products, medical malpractice, negligent and inadequate security, automobile accidents, slip and fall injuries, and vaccine-related injury and death. He has litigated hundreds of cases over his career, and he is known for taking on the difficult, hard-fought matters that other firms are quick to settle or turn away.
A Lawyer Who Knows Both Sides
Before he ever represented an injured person, David spent years defending insurance companies, working to deny or minimize the payments owed to injury victims. That experience is now one of his clients’ greatest advantages. He knows the defense playbook firsthand, the strategies, the tactics, and the pressure points, because he once ran it himself. When he partnered with Alan Neufeld to fight for the injured, he brought all of that insider knowledge to the other side of the table.
Experience and Results
David earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1988, giving him more than 35 years of trial experience. He practices alongside the lawyers of Neufeld & Kleinberg, PA, whose attorneys have together won over $100 million in verdicts and settlements for injured clients. David’s own trial record includes a $51 million jury verdict for a Lakeland family whose child was catastrophically injured in an auto accident, a $37 million jury verdict against Yamaha in a defective personal-watercraft case that influenced industry safety standards, and a $31 million settlement in a complex brain-injury case involving a vehicle operated for a government contractor.
Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome. The results of any case depend on its specific facts and legal circumstances.

He is an active member of the Florida Justice Association and the American Association for Justice, organizations dedicated to protecting the rights of injured people and preserving access to the civil justice system.
